Other Projects

My home office window treatments.  This treatment really cost me little money since it was only one treatment for the whole room and I got lucky and found the fabric to have already been marked down once, then hit the fabric store for their 50% off sale.  The entire project cost me less than $50 and took me about 3 nights to complete and install.

My super bargan fabric up close.  You can see the seam here if you look close where I had to join the  fabric due to the fact that the window itself is over 80 inches wide, wider than a standard roll of drapery fabric.  I got very lucky as the pattern in this fabric blended very well and hid the seam.

As you can see from the photo here this type of treatment involved a bit of math and organization.  Having to pin it all up and measure out the folds was difficult and something Joy had warned me about.  Without my big tables I don't think I would be able to do this project, being able to lay it flat really helped.

Mounted on the board and ready for install.

The finished project.  You can't see it in this photo, but the wall below this window is all marked up with tape and measurements, being prepared for my new office work surface.  I'll post an additional photo when the whole room re-do is complete.

The dining room window treatments.  I love the fabric that these treatments are made of.  I waited and waited for this fabric to go on sale.  It was originally about $27 per yard which is a bit too expensive for me considering there are 3 single windows and 1 double window in this room.  Also, when you add in the 'fudge factor' and potential that I would make a costly mistake and have to purchase more fabric, I had to watch for a sale.  I got lucky and waited for the price to drop and got the fabric for $14 per yard.
